Park in Mt Ashwabay parking lot, and access trailhead to south of Chalet. Purchase a trailpass in the Chalet, the Rental/Ticket Shop, or drop-tube at the trailhead.
Trails will be two-way. Please be courteous, and use caution. Portions of the snowshoe trails parallel or criss-cross the cross-country ski trails. Please be respectful, and stay to the side of the track-groomed paths.
Nordic Skiing & Snowshoeing Info
The Mt Ashwabay/Jerry Jolly Cross-Country trail system covers 40 km of classic and skate trails with ratings from beginner to expert. All trails are inspected regularly and are groomed and tracked as needed.
The beginner’s trail is the picturesque Sugar Bush Trail. Intermediate terrain can be enjoyed on Anchor, Seagull and Raven trails. Advanced skiers can venture out on the longer 15 km loop, which combines Sugar Bush, Deer Path and Raven trails, returning to the Mt. Ashwabay chalet.
For convenience, there is a self-pay droptube at each Trailhead. Also, the Cross-Country Warming Room attached to the Mt Ashwabay Chalet is always unlocked and accessible.
Snowshoers are welcome on the Trail System. Please respect the groomed & set Cross-country tracks. A Trail Pass is required.
Trail Grooming at Mt Ashwabay
Mt Ashwabay's Nordic Trail system is designed, built, and maintained by Volunteers. Do you have a great idea? Want to be part of the Grooming Crew? Talk to an Operations Team Member at the hill.
We use donated equipment and Volunteer labor whenever possible. If you have earth-moving equipment, excavating equipment, or a tractor and would like to volunteer or donate usage, please let us know. We also welcome anyone willing to swing an axe, or dig in with a shovel.
