Mt. Ashwabay announces a new learn to ski program: Mount Ashwabay Development Ski Team, or, “M.A.D. SKI”. This all new program is under the direction of Dan Shefchik, Mount Ashwabay’s training program director and Professional Ski Instructor of America (PSIA) level 3 Ski Instructor; Jim Bratley Mount Ashwabay’s Race Director and USSA licensed Coach and Steve Pierce, USSA licensed coach. The program has been completely redesigned to follow the latest techniques promoted by PSIA and USSA.
The new program will be extended to 9 weeks, starting on January 5 and extending thru March 2, 2008. The cost will be $35.00 for the first child, $25.00 for the second and $20.00 for the third and subsequent children. This program will be based on the PSIA and USSA learn to ski program with emphasis on goal achievement and progress recognition. The new 9 week program will allow for greater achievement and ultimately better skiers!
Mount Ashwabay will be offering a special reduced rate to participants of this program of $12.00/day for daily lift ticket and $12.00/day for rentals. New this year and available only to participants of the MAD SKI program is a season long rental rate of $99.00.
Central to the success of this program is parental involvement and instruction. The “MAD SKI” program will be utilizing PSIA/USSA training for our parent/coaches. This is a great chance for everyone to hone their skiing skills and learn the latest techniques and tips to make skiing easier and more fun.
