With your help, Coming soon: New Outdoor Summer Bar
Volunteer some time to Help Improve Mt Ashwabay
Although the snow isn't quite gone, we're already getting ready for a busy & fun summer at Mt Ashwabay. During the un-snowy months, we host the Lake Superior Big Top Chautauqua and their awesome series of shows under the tent. Throughout the season, Mt Ashwabay handles all grill, cafe, and bar operations. If you'd like to be part of a fun and exciting summer, join us! Learn more about available summer positions HERE The summer also offers a great chance to volunteer and help the Ashwabay Outdoor Educational Foundation. If you're interested in enjoying some great outdoor fun at Mt Ashwabay that doesn't involve snow, let us know. Aside from the grill & bar services for the Big Top, there's a LOT of work that goes into getting ready for the upcoming winter. From mowing and brush clearing, to equipment maintenance, to marketing and fundraising, to facility improvements, we've got a lot to get done before the snow flies! Please let us know if you'd like to help, and we'll find some projects to match you with. Please contact us HERE Thanks to Ginamarie at Wrapped Up Confections for donating some delicious prizes for the event winners at this year's Spring Carnival. She handmade an assortment of cookies, cake pops, and chocolate medals. Check out her great work at www.wrappedupconfections.com Are you interested in joining the Ashwabay Ski Patrol? Director Steve Pierce is hoping to coordinate an Outdoor Emergency Care course to provide training. He would like to have at least six participants commit to taking the class before going forward. Starting in early April, the program lasts about three months, with two classes weekly. There will be costs for materials, books, and registering with the National Ski Patrol. Serving on the Ashwabay Ski Patrol is a challenging and rewarding experience. Members work to ensure the safety of the skiers and snowboarders at Mt Ashwabay. Patrollers have a strong desire to help others, learn emergency care techniques, improve their skiing and snowboarding skills, and enhance the safety and enjoyment of snow sports for all. Anyone interested should send Steve an email HERE |
