4th Annual Fat Bike Race Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016 NCCA volunteers and Ashwabay team up to host an annual Double Doughnut Derby. Fat-tire bikers take to snow-covered trails to challenge themselves and each other on a climb up, and descent down. All proceeds benefit the Ashwabay single track project. Choice of 2 races: 8-mile single loop 16-mile double loop Machine-groomed ski trails (Course routes and distances are subject to change) Requirements: Riders must be 12 years or older Helmets required Tires 3.7” or wider required Tire air pressure no greater than 10psi Awards Ceremony: First place male/female from both courses Snacks, drinks, and fun will be supplied Registration: Online HERE Walk-in 11:30am to 12:30pm $20 pre-registration / $30 day-of
The unseasonable warm weather will be delaying the opening of Mt Ashwabay's winter activities. Snow has finally begun to fall, but we are still very far behind. The warm weather has also prevented any snow-making operations. The Mt Ashwabay Crew and Volunteers are waiting anxiously for colder temps and lower humidity to fire up the snow guns.
