Dec. 5, 2024

12/5/2024

After the 6 to 10 inches last weekend and then the couple 2 3 inches yesterday it was time to start packing the Ashwabay fat bike trails. I focused my efforts on the parts that don't use the summer trails since they had the most snow. Conditions are likely on the softer side but worth a ride for the adventurous. Snowshoeing would help compaction. Bring a lopper because there's a few saplings sticking up from the trail. We will have to wait a bit to groom again since it's thin in some areas.

Of note the some of summer single track trails only have a thin layer of snow and have been boot packed. So Get Up, Get Down, Diesel Bear, Magic Carpet and Dirt Lip part 3 are ridable on a fat bike. The rest of the system has more snow and is essentially closed or a back country adventure.
