The Hospital Gateway trails have been cleaned up, have dried out, and are now open. All other CAMBA Trails open tomorrow!
Thanks to lots of hard effort and some friendly weather, the entire CAMBA system, including Ashwabay, will be open for riding beginning tomorrow, Saturday morning. We also want to show our sincere gratitude to the Bayfield County Forest, Sawyer County Forest, and the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest for their support and help in providing the public with awesome riding! Expect spring conditions in some places, so be aware of debris and watch for downed trees we’ve yet to clear. When possible, we ask that you please remove fallen branches by throwing brush to the uphill side of the trails to keep drains clear. Also, report any trees that need attention. Thank you for your mindful riding. Now, get out and enjoy! Groomed up a couple snow falls on the Ashwabay fat bike trail tonight. There is a decent moisture amount in the snow. With freezing overnight temps things should freeze up. The lower trails had seen snowshoe traffic and will be firmer. Upper trails we're previously untracked and might be softer.
Fat bike trails were track packed and dragged Saturday afternoon. The snow was very dry and powdery so it didn't pack very well. Conditions are going to be very soft. Sunday is a good day for snowshoes. More snow expected Monday and it should be of the wetter type.
