Went out this afternoon and cleaned up and set new tracks on Abbey Road, Northern Lights, and The Buzz

Doug drove the Pisten Bully around Northern Lights, Roller Coaster, Anchor, and Skid Road today. Bill and John cleaned up the rest of the trails and reset tracks, including on the classic only trails (including Deer Path). The Buzz and lower Jolly are still pretty soft. The skating was FANTASTIC today, and the tracks look amazing. When the temps warm up on Tuesday afternoon the skate lanes will likely get soft, but otherwise it should set up well.
Classic: Sugarbush Skate: Abbey Road Skid Road Anchor Roller Coaster Seagull Part of Jolly Long Skate in Progress: Seagull to Northern Lights Northern Lights on the West side of the ski hill Track are being set on Oppedahl's Alley, etc. (OKGroomers are heading out now to groom the new snow that fell overnight. Winter just keeps coming!!
Classic: It will take a few passes to get the trails ready to set tracks, so you may want to wait until later in the morning if that is what you are looking for. It will be a beautiful morning for classic touring if you like snow in the trees and a more leisurely pace and don't mind making your own tracks! Chuck is packing the classic only trails so we can reset tracks later in the day (or tomorrow). Tracks will be reset on the skate/classic trails after the skate lanes are groomed (see below) Skate: Doug is just about to head out with the Pisten Bully (!) which will make a solid skate deck on Northern Lights, Abbey Road, Skid Road and the top of Jolly. Skating should be great by late morning/early afternoon once the trail has set up a bit. The snow is wet and the temp is 20 degrees F, so everything should set up hard and fast! (Update, this was wishful thinking... it warmed right up and stayed pretty soft...) |
