Nordic Update 11/19/2014

11/19/2014

4 Comments

::Nordic Conditions::
-New snowfall last 24 hours: 2 inches
-Base: 6-10 inches variable
::Volunteer Groomer Activity Report::
-Skate: Today packed and groomed with the ginzu Jolly Long.  There is one wet spot to be careful of on this trail.
-Classic: We packed and the tracked with the ginzu Sugarbush Classic.  Be careful as the groomer lost a cement block somewhere between the tin shed and the parking lot.
*A section of Deer Path was plowed to give haul-out access to loggers; please be aware some areas are not yet open for skiing. Thank you for respecting a safe distance from logging areas.

Thanks so much for getting out there and doing some sweet grooming!
Will it be safe to xc ski during deer hunting season?
Any trails we should avoid?
Thanks,
Kriner

Anyone in the woods during rifle season should wear hunter orange for safety. The trails maintained by Ashwabay criss-cross onto other public and private land, and hunting is allowed on some of those areas. The 2014 rifle season runs Saturday, November 22 through Sunday, November 30.
